How I Create a Kurti from Scratch – Behind the Seams

๐Ÿงต How I Create a Kurti from Scratch – Behind the Seams

Ever wondered what goes into making a handmade Kurti?

At Ulfa’s Fashion, every design you see is more than just fabric and thread — it’s a journey. In this post, I’m taking you behind the seams to show how I create each Kurti from start to finish, with love and care in every step.

✂️ Step 1: Choosing the Perfect Fabric

Every beautiful Kurti starts with a fabric that speaks to me. I personally select each fabric based on:

Season (cotton for summer, rayon for casual wear, etc.)

Color tones trending that month

How it will feel on your skin — because comfort comes first!

“Fabric is the foundation. It decides the flow, fit, and feel of your Kurti.”

๐Ÿ“ Step 2: Designing the Look

Next, I sketch or visualize the style:

Straight cut, A-line, or Anarkali?

Should it have a front slit or side pockets?

Will the sleeves be puffed, plain, or bell-style?

Sometimes, the design is custom-made based on what YOU request!

๐Ÿ“ Step 3: Cutting the Pattern

Once the design is finalized, I cut the fabric by hand.

This is one of the most delicate steps — one wrong cut, and the whole flow can go off. That’s why I do it myself every time.

๐Ÿงต Step 4: Stitching with Love

Now comes the stitching — the heart of handmade fashion.

Using my personal sewing machine, I put together each piece with attention to:

Strong, clean seams

Neat neckline finishing

Balanced fitting on both sides

This is the stage where the Kurti starts taking shape. It’s always magical to see!

                                                           ๐Ÿชก Step 5: Final Touches
Before the Kurti reaches you, I:

Iron it for the perfect shape

Check for loose threads or stitches

Add details like buttons, tassels, or minimal embroidery (if required)

Only after I'm fully satisfied, I wrap it up and get it ready for delivery.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Why I Do It All Myself
Because every Kurti is personal to me.
You’re not just buying a dress — you’re wearing something I created with my hands and heart.
That’s what makes Ulfa’s Fashion special.

๐ŸŒธ Final Thought
When you support handmade, you support slow fashion, self-growth, and real stories.
I hope next time you wear one of my Kurtis, you’ll feel the love that went into every thread.
